Another 512 x 512 texture.  I was doing a sand/rock study using a real life reference this time.  So it looks like what I need to do is have a real life reference + style reference, so that I can get the hand-painted look I want without copying what I'm seeing.

Hey,
I have a new piece done based on some prop concepts from Torchlight.  I focused on expressing the lighting information this time, since my last piece was very flat.  I used a 1024x1024 diffuse and one smoothing group on the model so that the texture would do all the work.



I'm planning on doing some texture swatches so that I can better develop my texture painting, since I realize that my materials don't read separately from each other very well.  I think I succeeded with the lighting information on the different planes this time around, when compared to my last piece.

Shrine

This is my first finished piece since school 2 years ago.  I will come back and edit it using the critique I've received on Polycount once I've finished a total of 5 pieces.  I used a 1024x1024 texture.
